It feels like its your birthday when you receive snail the good kinds though not bills yuck haha! It shows that someone is actually thinking of you not that they just popped up on your newsfeed on Facebook that they actually took the time out of their day to put pen to paper to buy a stamp and too post a letter! I just started 100 superhero postcard challenge over at Steph&Husband and I am loving it it's like reconnecting with people from all stages of your life!

I write thank you notes by snail mail, but I prefer to write extended messages online. Since most of my family lives out of the U.S. all the mails are online otherwise, it'd take 3-4 weeks to get there.
I love to write thank you letters because I believe we are becoming an ungrateful society that takes everything for granted. WE should say than you, please, and excuse me more often...
I write letters because I've always liked writing. I find handwritten letters much more personal than emails. I love using pretty stationery and different pens and decorate my letters with stickers. I love being creative and each letter is like a piece of art. ;-) Plus it's great to open the mailbox and find handwritten letters from the other side of the world. Every time I receive mail it's a little bit like Christmas. :)
It's a great feeling to hold a letter in my hands, that has been written for me only and has travelled soooo many miles around the world.
My pals and I also exchange little things like postcards, stickers, tea and other little gifts. You cannot do that via email.
My penpals are my best friends because I don't have friends where I live.
Writing letters is also very relaxing (at least for me). :)
I like the way the pen feels in my hand and I like my own handwriting. I like to receive hand-written letters because it's something tangible that I can look at later and enjoy. I have a few letters my grandmother wrote to me and although she died a couple years ago, seeing her handwriting connects me to my feelings about her. She saved all the letters I wrote to her and my aunt gave them back to me. I loved that.
I want my friends and family to know they are special. I feel special when I receive handwritten mail.
I like the feeling of pen on paper and there's a nice kind of symmetry in the whole 'letter process'.
Writing -> Sealing -> Sending -> Receiving -> Unsealing -> Reading.
