Back when I was in high school, I had a friend who wanted to be a philosopher. One of his ponderings was, "Which is more beautiful? A single flower in a bed of rocks or a single flower in a bed of other flowers?"All these years later, I still don't know what the correct answer is, or even if there is a right answer. What do you think? Do surroundings alter perception? Do they alter reality?
