JFK Stamps Unveiled

The package of stamps I recently ordered from the U.S. Postal Service arrived today, and in it are the new stamps honoring the 35th United States president, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The stamp was officially dedicated on Presidents Day, Feb. 20. It's a great stamp!

According to the USPS, the stamp features a 1960 photograph by Ted Spiegel of Kennedy campaigning for president in Seattle. The artwork accompanying the stamp, showing Kennedy in a reflective pose, is a 1970 oil painting by Aaron Shikler (courtesy of the White House / White House Historical Association).

The First Class Forever stamp is available in formats of a sheet of 12 stamps and a block of 4 stamps. Collectors also may order a ceremony program, digital color postmark, framed art of the stamps and a press sheet with die cuts. To buy the stamps, check with your local post office or go online to the USPS Online Store.

This isn't the first JFK stamp the USPS has offered. There have been three other stamps and an Air Mail Aerogramme featuring President Kennedy.

For more information about the stamp and JFK, visit the USPS website.
