The U.S. Postal Service has been issuing "Love" stamps for almost 40 years. From what I can tell, there wasn't necessarily a new "Love" stamp every year, but some years had more than one. Here's what I can find. Do you know of more?
The partner of the 55c purple stamp is the 1999 1st class mail- 33c Victorian Heart( pink). I collected all the stamps in the Love series from 1973. 45c Rose 1988(yellow and red); 52c Parrots 1991; 55c Swans 1997(orange background) ; 55c Rose and Love Letter 2001 (pink rose) 60c Love 2002 (letter O is yellow). One time I sent a dear friend a CD in the mail and used different Love stamps to cover postage. It looked pretty all lined in a row!
There exists this wonderful history of the LOVE Stamp Series, from 1973 through 2010 in the form of a booklet that is also an album suitable for displaying examples of them all; this includes the Wedding Stamp Series also. Its a free downloadable printable PDF here: http://stamps.org/userfiles/file/albums/Love.pdf
This printable make it possible to print extra specific pages to display the more recent as well as future released LOVE stamps. The USPS always does a great job of writing up their new stamp releases on their website, which can also be printed & included to make the album expand indefinitely... to keep up with this outstanding series. Judging by your excellent collection pictured here, I think you'll enjoy this printable; hopefully as much as I do.
