According to a news release on the USPS website, the U.S. Postal Service, in response to a request made by multiple
U.S. Senators, has agreed to delay the closing or consolidation of any post office or mail processing facility until May 15, 2012. A Reuters story on Yahoo.com has more information, as does the Washington Post.
This may be good news for some post offices and the people who use them, or it could just be delaying the inevitable.
