I did get a form letter back, and an "autographed" photo, both of which I tossed because I thought them tacky. I don't know what I expected... handwritten poetry in the style of Dylan Thomas perhaps. It cured me of ever writing a fan letter again.PostMusehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10577063129345816693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3772627414132917275.post-50658820091054244332009-09-15T18:45:55.289-05:002009-09-15T18:45:55.289-05:00I've written to a couple of writers that I rea...I've written to a couple of writers that I really enjoyed reading and got answers back from both. I remember Dana Strum (Slaughter) and Danny Vaughn (Tyketto) sent me short postcards in reply. That was probably around 20 years ago but I'm sure the cards are still around here somewhere. I've actually written 2 as an adult, even though I admit I did feel a little silly doing it! :) One I never got any response to; the other I just sent around a month ago so I'm waiting to see what happens. :)Elizabethnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3772627414132917275.post-32577663838395509142009-09-15T11:04:48.687-05:002009-09-15T11:04:48.687-05:00During a letter writing project in elementary scho...During a letter writing project in elementary school, each of us in class were required to write to someone famous. I can't remember why, but I chose Jim Davis, creator of Garfield. I remember receiving a signed (form?) letter with some Garfield drawings on the paper. I can't remember very well. I'll have to dig it up next time I'm at my parents' home.HereBeDragonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13184914538365115481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3772627414132917275.post-75322588190654433372009-09-15T10:32:47.176-05:002009-09-15T10:32:47.176-05:00Yes it was like losing a dear friend and he was on...Yes it was like losing a dear friend and he was one of my favorites too .
